Watch Your Child Grow and Connect . . . .
All children should have a fun childhood spent playing outdoors and exploring the special place where they live. Marin's incredible green spaces are the perfect setting for your child to fall in love with the Earth.

GreenPlay's naturalist teachers help parents to teach kids their "ecological address" . . . that keen sense of the place where they live that will encourage them to cherish that place as adults. Today's GreenPlay adventurers will be tomorrow's civic leaders.

At the core of GreenPlay's mission is a passion for giving back to the community. We work side-by-side with your children on conservation and restoration projects. Our activities are 100% waste-free and we bring intention to our supply chain by choosing sustainable partners. Informed decisionmaking ensures that we fulfill our mission in every step we take on Marin's paths and trails.

Afternoon Adventures!

GreenPlay's Afternoon Adventures classes take elementary school age kids on a new kind of hike, a learning exploration with nature and history walks in Marin's unique downtowns, Miwok tribal lands, and in our beautiful open spaces. Each 8-week Afternoon Adventures session puts the kids to work on an important ecological restoration project working with Marin County Open Space rangers. Foraging for native foods, acting out Miwok customs and creating art from nature are also big hits with the kids, and each session ends with a locally-grown treat (think homemade ice cream with West Marin grown strawberries). Classes run fom 4:00 to 5:30 PM.

Fall 2010 Dates to Be Announced Soon!

Summer Camp Fun!

GreenPlay's Sustainable Summer Camp expands our 90 minute Afternoon Adventures into a half day or a full day of fun! During each week-long session, children from 6 through 11 learn more about the place where they live with in-depth ecology adventures, history walks, edible foraging forays and Miwok expeditions. Just as with Afternoon Adventures, learning by giving back is an important part of camp. We spend at least 3 half days on resoration projects working with local researchers and conservation organizations. Unstructured exploration, noncompetitive games, storytelling, hiking, and nature art are all part of the experience. Camp runs from 9 AM to 1:30 PM (half day) or 9 AM to 4:30 PM (full day) and extended care is available.
